In order to reflect the brand's unique craftsmanship and original intention, designer Denver Hsu has adopted a simple yet aesthetic approach to evoke memories of a slightly sweet past. The busy wooden rattan cabinet, filled with dishes, creates a warm and inviting atmosphere for diners sitting beside the cozy lamp.
The 132 square meter space features an open layout kitchen, adorned with black wood grain on the walls and exquisite decorative metal pipes. This design allows diners to witness the artistry of handmade drinks being prepared by the kitchen staff, immersing them in the brand's ingenuity at all times.
The overlapping structure of the metal pipes and the blue linen curtain adds an imaginative touch to the space, reshaping the memory of traditional design. Clean gray and warm wood veneer are used as the keynote on the walls, creating an environment that is both aesthetically pleasing and full of life.
Construction of the Grandma Hand Made project began in August 2019 in Guilin, Guangxi, and was completed in September 2019. The design team, consisting of Denver Hsu, Xiao Wei Zhou, Lu Zhang, and Qi Ya Lu, overcame the challenge of capturing the brand's unique craftsmanship and originality, allowing consumers to directly and clearly recall the flavors of the past.
This exceptional design was recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in 2020 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. The award acknowledges well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. Grandma Hand Made's retail design stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and its contribution to creating a better world.
